Taipan and Rodworks

EFY-BYU 146! Remember our retreat two years ago...we went to Taipan Trading Co. and Rodworks? It was my first trip to either of those great stores. I LOVED it. Anyhow, we said we would send pictures of what we did with our treasured finds. Now that I have a blog, I can share those with you... : D
I bought the large corbels to 1-match my smaller corbels under my cabinets, and 2-to mirror the arch that SHOULD have gone in the stairway. It's arched in all the other hallways and doorways. But it was an oversight to not include an arch at the stairway. So, this was my solution. Jami, recognize the sign? Who else bought this sign? It still is one of my very favorite sayings. I LOVE having this in the center of our home. The dimensions ended up working out perfectly. Now, if I could just get that polka-dot pillow and flower complete. Who knows, perhaps that will be the next post... Kathy, will we get to see pictures of your Rodworks and Taipan finds?
Jersey Girl

In addition to making outfits for Ike and Ireland, I wanted to make an outfit to auction off in Jersey's name. (For more information on Jersey girl, go to her family blog, at www.andersonsavenue.blogspot.com). Nothing but pink for the little princess. Notice the sparkly pink beads in the bottom of the flower tutu. Too fun!
It was rejuvenating to make the outfits, and their tags, for this special event. We'll also have a tribute table for some of these babes. If you want to come to the event, or donate, just let me know! Still selling tickets and still collecting donations. Yeah March of Dimes! We love you Isaac, Ireland, and Jersey! (Next time, I'll have to make outfits for Tyler and Ethan...)
In the beginning

Oh, how many times I have created some project, all to give away, or sell away...without documenting my efforts. I don't have many pictures of any of my projects. It's about time I start... lest people wonder if I could do more than whatever it is they think I do. : )
This Friday is a March of Dimes fund raising event. In addition to free food, drinks, and a country music concert, they will have a silent auction. I finally got to make matching outfits for my twins! Albeit to auction...one for Ike, one for Ireland. A BYU girlfriend showed me how to make these darling gowns this past weekend. I was glad to already put the knowledge to use. If any of you go to copy the idea (which to me is the biggest compliment of all), you can apply the flower with velcro. Stitch a square of the soft side of velcro onto the gown. Stitch or glue the sticky side of the velcro to the flower. That way, the flower can easily be removed, and the gown washed in the machine.
